"All I Have Been Looking for is Freedom and Peace"

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) invited seven YouTube creators to get to know refugees around the world and share their stories. See those stories at https://goo.gl/MtucBa Learn more about the IRC and YouTube's partnership, and make a donation at https://www.Rescue.org/YouTube. Google will match all donations up to $500k.

There is so much to be learned by looking at the world through someone else's eyes, if only for a moment. I'm grateful to The International Rescue Committee and the YouTube creators that made this video.

There is a lot of suffering in the world, but there is also a lot of hope. Every day I'm seeing another reason to feel positive. Every day I'm feeling like change is a possibility. I know there's a lot of bad stuff going on in the world, but that's what gets most of the press coverage.

Often times when the topic of change comes up, it usually involves economics and third world countries. While those are important factors, I think the change that we are going to experience is going to be a change in the way we view each other as human beings. We have spent too many generations being instilled with the fear of "strangers" and people that are different than us. We're slowly starting to break that cycle, and I'm hearing stories of parents teaching their children about inclusion and love.

Little by little, conversation by conversation, smile by smile, we will see the difference.  There are too many good people in the world that are willing to fight the good fight to let humanity wither.

Props to Google and YouTube for supporting The International Rescue Committee
