Volunteering at Hiring Our Heroes Event

Hiring Our Heroes - Cataño, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

We were given a unique opportunity this week to volunteer at the Hiring Our Heroes event in Cataño, Puerto Rico, across the bay from Old San Juan, where it’s only 50¢ to cross by ferry. The event was produced by The US Chamber of Commerce Foundation under their Hiring for Heroes program.

Current and former members of the military and their spouses were invited to attend the event where they would be able to review job positions available in over 40 businesses and organizations, while enjoying the ocean breezes and upbeat music. Many volunteers and staff were on hand to answer questions, and guide people through the process.

A brief video glimpse of the event:

More than 40 organizations and businesses came together to present available opportunities to members of the military and their spouses. We were honored to be a part of this event on behalf of Fort Buchanan, The American Legion Puerto Rico, The US Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and BuildingBeyond.Me.

Staff and Volunteers for Hiring Our Heroes

It was an honor to work alongside so many dedicated people and to meet job seekers. There is however one person that was on wrist-band duty, and that person will not likely be asked to do that job again. Yes, that person would be Ryan.
