An accidental guest spot on Rebecca Lombardo’s Vlog
If you don’t know Rebecca Lombardo, you might be interested to know that you may very well want to. Not only is she a published author, blogger for the Huffington Post, mental health activist, hash-tag owner, and all around nice person, but she’s also doing other things. You might recognize Rebecca from her member feature on Building Beyond Me. It’s getting to be time we updated that feature because Rebecca doesn’t sit still, and has gone on to create more media in addition to her years long running podcast.
Rebecca put out a tweet asking if anyone wanted to be a guest on her vlog. Just for fun, I flipped my camera and started blathering on, never intending to actually send the video anywhere. You see, I had misread the original post because I had dogs on the mind and I substituted in my mind the word does for the word dogs. I thought she was asking what dogs mean to us. Well, dogs, particularly my dog means a great deal to me.
As it happens, my dog is my therapy animal, and she accompanies me everywhere I go. Restaurants, waiting rooms, you name it, she’s slept in her crate in it. So, early in the morning, barely awake, haven’t even put my teeth in, and I make a video and then promptly forget all about it.
I go on about my life, and see another tweet and realize that what Rebecca was asking for had nothing to do with dogs, or with toothless idiots at 6AM. Funny, ha ha, right?
Who knows what I was doing when I got a DM asking me if I’d do a guest vlog. Shit. Yeah, funny enough, I already did one, but I did it wrong because I thought you were asking about dogs.
“Does it have to do with mental health?”
“Yes, it does. Here, I’ll send it to you and you can use it if you want, even though it’s not what you asked for.”
